Summer Agricultural Machinery Maintenance Tips

In summer, the temperature is high and there is abundant rainfall. On the one hand, agricultural machinery is prone to malfunctions if it is operated continuously for a long time, and on the other hand, it is prone to rain and flooding. If the locomotive is not cleaned and maintained in a timely manner, it will seriously endanger the mechanical performance and service life of tractors and other agricultural machinery. Here are some precautions for daily use and maintenance of agricultural machinery:

1. Choose lubricants correctly according to the season. Summer and winter lubricants cannot be mixed. In summer, lubricating oil is prone to thinning due to heat, poor oxidation resistance, easy deterioration, and even causing faults such as burning tiles and holding shafts. Therefore, summer lubricating oil should be replaced in the crankcase and gearbox, and the quantity and quality of the lubricating oil should be checked regularly, and replaced in a timely manner.

2. After the water tank is boiling, do not immediately open the water tank cover by hand. To prevent scalding accidents, cooling water should not be added immediately, which can easily cause the cylinder head or cylinder block to "burst". Also, do not immediately turn off the engine. Run it slowly for a period of time and wait for the engine cooling water to naturally cool before adding cooling water.

3. Agricultural machinery that has not been used for a long time should be placed in a garage as much as possible. If placed in the open air, thick wooden boards should be placed under the tracks or tires to prevent corrosion and aging of rubber parts. Cut off the power and turn off the main power switch. Remove the negative grounding wire of the battery or remove the battery for ventilation and storage.

4. Clean the soil and weeds on agricultural machinery in a timely manner. Remove the exhaust pipe and clean the sewage and sediment inside. Clean the oil stains on the engine surface in a timely manner. If the oil stains on the outside of the engine are too thick, it will affect heat dissipation, laying hidden dangers for various component failures. Using high-pressure injection method, the engine components will be cleaned with a non corrosive cleaning agent.

5. Cool body explosion-proof tire. In summer, when the temperature is high, the rubber of the tires is prone to aging, and in severe cases, a tire blowout may occur. Therefore, during the operation of the tractor, it is necessary to check the tire pressure at any time. If the tire is found to be too hot or too high, the vehicle should be parked in a cool place to cool down, and cold water should not be used to splash it, otherwise it may cause a tire explosion during the journey.

6. To prevent overheating of the engine, during maintenance, it should be noted that the fan belt should not be contaminated with oil to prevent slipping, and the belt should be kept as loose as possible. During long-distance driving, it is important to rest in a timely manner, choose a cool place as much as possible, and open the engine hood for ventilation and heat dissipation. When the tire pressure increases due to heat, the vehicle should be stopped immediately to cool down, otherwise there is a risk of a tire blowout. Special attention should be paid not to use methods such as deflating or splashing cold water to reduce the tire pressure and temperature.

In addition, the maintenance of agricultural machinery should also achieve the "three diligence", namely hand diligence, eye diligence, and ear diligence. Before a malfunction occurs in general agricultural machinery, there will be abnormal phenomena. If the "three diligence" can be achieved, various faults of agricultural machinery will be detected and eliminated in a timely manner, thereby reducing unnecessary losses.
